Big Brother – Helping With Your Teenager’s Car Insurance

Tracking down your teenager’s whereabouts any hour of the day or night. Being able to find out if they are exceeding the speed limit, where and when. Using GPS tracking software to locate your teen’s car all the time and the location sent to your cell phone in the form of a text. Sound too much like George Orwell’s 1984. Well for some it may be, but it is a program that is heavily promoted by several insurance companies including Safeco, AIG and others.

With the advent of such technology the insurance companies are looking for ways to lower insurance premiums for teenager car insurance. The main concern for teenage drivers is the fact that last year over 7500 teens were killed in car accidents across the country. This is the main reason that rates on teenager car insurance can be as much as the cost of all adults on the policy combined.

At the very least it will give parents peace of mind as their teenager takes off in the car. Teens may not like the short leash, however, it is a good way for them to learn good, safe driving habits as well as getting a discount on teenager car insurance.

If you are at all interested in the program, check with your insurance company to see if they offer any programs like this in order to lower your rates on the teenager car insurance. These programs are currently in the pilot stage and soon will be rolled out in a wider scale. You are able to save up to 20% on your premiums for participating in the program and also for your teen to take a driver safety course.

Big Brother is here to help you with your teen drivers and your teenager car insurance…
